In December 2005, IFA Hotels & Resorts acquired the majority stake in YOTEL, the world’s most radical hotel concept. The long awaited YOTEL concept is set to change the hospitality industry and will be developed throughout the world in prime city centre and airport locations. Two hotels opened in the UK during 2007 at Heathrow and Gatwick, while a third property opened in Amsterdam Airport Schiphol during September 2008.
YOTEL is considered the ‘iPod’ of the hotel industry. Utilising the design language of first-class airline travel, YOTEL offers business-calibre accommodation in a 10-square-metre cabin for less than £80 a night. Offering flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi access and monsoon showers, the cabins are bookable in blocks of four hours, enabling delayed and transfer passengers to relax privately in a hotel environment. IFA Hotels & Resorts will continue to pursue the international expansion of this convenient and affordable product to lead the company’s growth across developed markets for the foreseeable future.
